In the spirit of our driving question “Are reparations necessary or possible? for your research paper, you will study the wealtfiinequality between, the richest and poorest countries. Basically, you will be looking at whether there are any solutions to the growing wealth gap on a global level. There has been a long history of European countries and the United States through colonialism and presently through woijd bank loans and trade agreements taking resources from f^fhird World countries^fchina is now a leader in lending money to poor countries V^rwho have little chance of paying them back. Should the United States have a plan to pay back countries for the wealth that has been and continues to be taken? ShouTcTthe revolutionary river of social injustice include those outside the United States?-? ?
Where is a good place to start? In the Oxford Student Union debate Does Britain Owe Reparations?” the six speakers bring in many arguments in favor and against colonial reparations. The non-profit organization Oxfam has studies and publications that are often very informative. The author of Confessions of an Economic Hitman, John Perkins has written about the subject. “Change Your Channel” by Mallance Bart-Williams looks at issues withJaierraXeonejmd addresses Africa in general.
