Using assigned group topic, paper should include:
In a typed, double-spaced, 1 inch margins, size 10-12 font^ paper:
Using 6-10 peer-reviewed journal articles that are the most recently available for the topic, and
Using at least 3-6 other credible sources (i.e. university websites, CDC, WHO, other public health sources):
o Define the issue – clarify the research topic.
What is it, who does it affect, is it worldwide, U.S., specific state, county, etc?
Give the who, what, where, why, and how from the research.
Include the Healthy People 2020 goal/objectives
Discuss trends related to this injury
What variables, risk factors, exposures are
potentially related to the injury problem?
What are the estimated costs of the problem?
Are there any factors that have limited progress in
prevention/reduction?
o What is currently being done? ^
What are some of the best practices (i.e. evidence-based research)?
What part of the ecological model do these interventions address?
o What are some recommendations for future practice to help prevent this issue?
Use Haddon’s Matrix and Countermeasures, the 3 Es, etc. (This will be discussed in class).
Make sure sources are cited in APA format, including a cover page, running head, in-text citations and reference page.
o NOTE: An abstract is NOT needed.
