Do not be descriptive, make sure you engage with the paradigm.<\/p>\n<p>Problem statement<br \/>\nThe problem statement is an incisive, insightful, powerful and engaging statement of the problem. This section conveys your groups\u0092 identification of the problem. Remember, what an organization states as being the problem may be vague and it is the result of your group\u0092s critical engagement with the problem that has resulted in your group\u0092s statement of what you present the probleRead Carefully, please follow the Report Structure.<\/p>\n<p>Assignment Brief<br \/>\nThis case study describes how a mining company desires to continue to be<br \/>\nbusiness-sustainable, i.e. to continue to make money.\u00a0 However, as it turns out,<br \/>\nthe mining company has been heavily criticised on social media, news outlets,<\/p>\n<p>and experienced criticisms and support from different sides of the political divide.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the exploration phase, the company has decided to engage the<\/p>\n<p>community to prepare them for the new mining activity. Some members of the<\/p>\n<p>community welcomed the new investment, welcoming jobs, the influx of new<\/p>\n<p>workers and therefore anticipated an increase in economic activity.<\/p>\n<p>The company has embarked on a social sustainability initiative. The mining<\/p>\n<p>company has established a new function to develop community relations through<\/p>\n<p>contributing to a school initiative and also other community actions, e.g. charities,<\/p>\n<p>donations, public sporting events.\u00a0 However, members of the public flooded the<\/p>\n<p>company\u2019s social media page with complaints about the company disrespect and<\/p>\n<p>accused the company of being hypocritical in their intentions.\u00a0 The accusations<\/p>\n<p>were about the use of a charity to increase their market share. The company did<\/p>\n<p>not have any plan to respond and this\u00a0 vitriolic attack came as a surprise. The<\/p>\n<p>company shut down its social media page and withdrew from the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>You have been engaged by the company to do a study on this failed campaign<\/p>\n<p>and to write a report.
