The world was becoming much more aware of modern dance through these artists, which includes Martha Graham.<br \/>\nWe will look at the works of Pearl Primus, Alvin Ailey and Paul Taylor in the world of 2ndgeneration modern dance pioneers. They are wearing sneakers and pajama-like costumes, which is a big departure from anything that modern dancers were doing .<\/p>\n<div class=\"et_post_video\">\n<div class=\"fluid-width-video-wrapper\"><iframe title=\"TWYLA THARP'S IN THE UPPER ROOM\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JWnEGqf6eKc?feature=oembed\" name=\"fitvid11\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Mark Morris\u00a0\u0093 one of the great modern dance artists of our time, his primary artistic drive comes from choreographing works to great classical music pieces- he has been called the Mozart of Modern Dance.
