Over the past few days, you have noticed an increase in patients admitted with a particular infectious disease. You believe that the ages of these patients play a critical role in the method used to treat the patients. You decide to speak to your manager, and together you work to use statistical analysis to look more closely at the ages of these patients.<\/p>\n<p>You do some research and put together a spreadsheet of the data that contains the following information:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Client number<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Infection disease status<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Age of the patient<\/p>\n<p>You need the preliminary findings immediately so that you can start treating these patients. So, let\u0092s get to work!<\/p>\n<p>Background information on the Data:<\/p>\n<p>The data set consists of 60 patients that have the infectious disease with ages ranging from 35 years of age to 76 years of age for NCLEX Memorial Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<p>1) Answer the questions below in a PowerPoint presentation.<\/p>\n<p>2) Include only the summary calculations in your slides (not formulas).<\/p>\n<p>3) Show calculations in your Excel spreadsheet (include formulas and do not round the numbers).<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Slide 1: Title<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Introduce your scenario and data set.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Slide 2: Provide a brief overview of the scenario you are given above and the data set that you will be analyzing.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Slide 3: Classify the variables in your data set.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Which variables are quantitative\/qualitative?<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Which variables are discrete\/continuous?<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Describe the level of measurement for each variable included in the data set (nominal, ordinal, interval, ratio)<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Discuss the importance of the Measures of Center and the Measures of Variation.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Slide 4: What are the measures of center and why are they important?<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Slide 5: What are the measures of variation and why are they important?<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Slide 6: Calculate the measures of center and measures of variation. Perform the following hypothesis test:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Original Claim: The average age of all patients admitted to the hospital with infectious diseases is less than 65 years of age.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Test the claim using ? = 0.05 and assume your data is normally distributed and ? is unknown.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Answer the following:<\/p>\n<p>1.
