Explore how simulation-based<br \/>\nlearning is used in the topic area and provide details of the types of simulation technology (such<br \/>\nas manikin patient simulators, task trainers, virtual reality) used. Students should focus on the<br \/>\nevidence base that underpins the research in simulation studies and evaluate the effectiveness<br \/>\nin terms of educational outcomes.<br \/>\nProject title:<br \/>\nThe impact of Advanced Stroke Life Support for Emergency nurses on stroke patient outcome: evidence based educational program for emergency nurses<br \/>\nProject target audience:<br \/>\nThe target audiences for this project are emergency nurses (junior nurses, charge nurses and nursing educators)<br \/>\nlearning outcomes: At the successful completion of this project, participant will be able to:<br \/>\no Becoming familiar with the anatomy and physiology of acute stroke and its clinical presentation.<br \/>\no Identify stroke syndromes and related them to pathophysiology and clinical signs.<br \/>\no Identifying and physical assessment any neurological deficits in suspect stroke patients and determine the appropriate triage levels based on hospital triage levels.<br \/>\no Perform comprehensive nursing neurological assessment to identify occurrence of stroke effectively.<br \/>\no Demonstrate Advanced Stroke Life Support knowledge and apply ASLS skills in clinical setting.<br \/>\no Perform decision-making skills in acute stroke situation.<br \/>\no Discuss and outline thrombolytic drug protocol, tPA eligibility and the contraindication of intravenous tPA treatment by following the hospital stroke protocol.<br \/>\no Becoming familiar with stroke care pathway and stroke code activation.<br \/>\no Upon successful ASLS course completion and passing the theoretical and practical parts, nurses will receive an ASLS course completion card valid for two years.<br \/>\nProject purpose:<br \/>\nParticipating in Advanced Stroke Life Support training course is known to increase the ability of emergency nurses and other healthcare providers in recognize stroke cases and improve the outcomes of patients.
