This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.<\/p>\n<p>You are a member of the Electronic Health Record (HER) Implementation Team. This team is made up of many key people who come together to pick the vendor for HER and begin the process of implementation. As part of this team, you will be reviewing and discussing software applications, as well as data collection and standards, laws, and regulations that govern the HER.<\/p>\n<p>Step 1: As part of the HER Implementation Team, you are given the task to research 3 of the following laws, standards, or regulations that govern the HER. You will need to discuss what they are and what their importance is for the HER implementation. Perform research as needed, and provide APE references. The standards that you may choose from are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HI TECH) Act<br \/>\nAmerican Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (AREA)<br \/>\nHealth Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (PHILIPA) Security Rule<br \/>\nPHILIPA Privacy Rule<br \/>\nNational provider identifier (NIP)<br \/>\nProtected health information (PHI)<br \/>\nOffice of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (INC)<br \/>\nNational Health Information Network (SHIN)<br \/>\nCertification for Health Information Technology (CHIT)<br \/>\nStep 2: While you are working on the HER Implementation Team, you are meeting other members of the team. You would like to understand their roles in the team so that you can work better with them. Choose 2 of the following health care professionals who work with health bioinformatics. Be sure to indicate what degree is required, and if the professional earns a certification or credential. Perform research as needed, and provide SPA references.
