Interdependence Mode<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nursing Philosophy, Theorist, Model or Conceptual Model Paper<br \/>\nNursing Philosophy, Theorist, Model or Conceptual Model Paper:<br \/>\nAPA format paper \u2013 The intent of this assignment is for the student to demonstrate<br \/>\nthe ability to synthesize readings and write clearly using the APA style. The student can<br \/>\nselect a nursing philosophy, a conceptual model, or nursing theory of a nursing theorist.<br \/>\nThe body of the paper is not to exceed 6 pages in length, 12 font, double spaced. It<br \/>\nwill be graded based on compliance with APA format and ability to present material<br \/>\nthrough the written word. Students should review the Criteria for grading of the APA<br \/>\nFormat Paper located within the syllabus.<\/p>\n<p>Resources:<br \/>\nThis paper should reflect the components as outlined in grading rubric below. Review of<br \/>\nprofessional nursing and health care literature must be reflected in the reference list. A<br \/>\ntypical reference list would include three to five journal articles, one or two related web<br \/>\nsites, and any applicable books. A reference list containing only web resources or only<br \/>\nbooks is not appropriate.<br \/>\nNursing Philosophies(The nursing philosophy we are using is the one below, this philosophy is to be applied to the 2 patient scenarios):<br \/>\nAdaptation Model of Nursing by Callista Roy<br \/>\nAdaptation Modes<br \/>\nA. Physiologic Mode<br \/>\n1. To what extent is the family able to meet the basic survival needs of its members?<br \/>\n2. Are any family members having difficulty meeting basic survival needs?<br \/>\nB. Self-Concept Mode<br \/>\n1. How does the family view itself in terms of its ability to meet its goals and to assist its members to achieve their goals? To what<\/p>\n<p>extent do they see themselves as self-directed? Other directed?<br \/>\n2. What are the values of the family?<br \/>\n3. Describe the degree of companionship and understanding given to the family members<br \/>\nC. Interdependence Mode<br \/>\n1. To what extent are family members and subsystems within the family allowed to be independent in goal identification and achievement (e.g.,<\/p>\n<p>adolescents)?<br \/>\n2. To what extent are the members supportive of one another?<br \/>\n3. What are the family\u2019s support systems? Significant others?<br \/>\n4. To what extent is the family open to information and assistance from outside the family unit? Willing to assist other families<\/p>\n<p>outside the family unit?<br \/>\n5. Describe the interaction patterns of the family in the community.<\/p>\n<p>Adaptive Mechanisms<br \/>\nA. Regulator: Physical status of the family in terms of health? i.e., nutritional state, physical strength, availability of physical resources<br \/>\nB. Cognator: Educational level, knowledge base of family, source of decision making, power base, degree of openness in the system to input,<\/p>\n<p>ability to process<\/p>\n<p>SCHOLARLY PAPER: Nursing Philosophy or Nursing Conceptual Model ofTheories of Nursing (Nursing Theorist)<br \/>\nGrading Rubric:<br \/>\nPaper Content: Nursing philosophy or Nursing Conceptual Models, or Theories of Nursing.<br \/>\nIntroduction and Purpose: 5%<br \/>\nDiscuss: Why you selected above: 10%<br \/>\nProvide Overview of your selection: nursing philosophy, or nursing conceptualmodel or Theory of Nursing Selected: 50%<br \/>\nDiscuss how this selection impacts professional nursing and contribution to practice: 10%<br \/>\nProvide a descriptive example of how you will incorporate this into 2 patients you have cared for:Provide the nursing diagnosis for each patient<\/p>\n<p>toreinforce this application. May utilize a research article (attach to paper). 20%<br \/>\n\u2022 Patient 1:<br \/>\no Nursing Diagnosis (to be included in the paper) =&gt; Fatigue related to overwhelming psychological and emotional demands as evidenced by<\/p>\n<p>patient\u2019s comments.<br \/>\no Patient Scenario:<br \/>\nA 57-year-old man presented with crusted lesions on his thorax that had developed over a period of 2 months. He had occasional bloody discharge,<\/p>\n<p>without pain, and did not have constitutional or other systemic symptoms. Multiple skin biopsies eventually confirmed the diagnosis of cutaneous<\/p>\n<p>T-cell lymphoma. Computed tomography revealed no lymphadenopathy or metastases. No evidence of bone marrow involvement was found. The patient<\/p>\n<p>received a course of photopheresis, with a good response. Three months later, he presented with ataxia. Imaging revealed infiltration involving<\/p>\n<p>the pons and cerebellum, with new pleuropulmonary nodules. Lung-biopsy findings were consistent with recurrent low-grade T-cell lymphoma. The<\/p>\n<p>patient received photopheresis therapy and then underwent autologous stem-cell transplantation. During his today\u2019s visit, 10 months after<\/p>\n<p>transplantation, he continued to have remission but continues to receive photopheresis treatment.<br \/>\n\u2022 Patient 2:<br \/>\no Nursing Diagnosis (to be included in the paper) =&gt;Anxiety related to social pressures of invasive and life changing surgery of gender<\/p>\n<p>reassignment surgery.<br \/>\no Patient Scenario:<br \/>\n25-year-old patient is admitted for part 2 of gender reassignment surgery from female to male. Patient expressed cues of anxiety due to the<\/p>\n<p>number of surgeries requires to complete part 2. These surgeries include Hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and a phalloplasty.<\/p>\n<p>The healing process of these multiple surgeries include months of recovery time and physical therapy. Patient will need to focus on the end goal<\/p>\n<p>of this elective surgery and understand the possible complications that can arise.
