In some cases, these impulsive and compulsive<br \/>\nbehaviors also fuel issues with addiction. To effectively assess and<br \/>\ntreat clients, you must understand how these disorders differ, as well<br \/>\nas how their symptoms impact clients and their families.<\/p>\n<p>This<br \/>\nweek, as you examine therapies for individuals with impulsivity,<br \/>\ncompulsivity, and addiction, you explore the assessment and treatment of<br \/>\nclients with these disorders. You also consider ethical and legal<br \/>\nimplications of these therapies.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<h1 id=\"section_container0\">Assignment: Assessing and Treating Clients With Impulsivity, Compulsivity, and Addiction<\/h1>\n<p>Impulsivity, compulsivity, and addiction are<br \/>\nchallenging disorders for clients across the lifespan. These disorders<br \/>\noften manifest as negative behaviors, resulting in adverse outcomes for<br \/>\nclients. In your role as the psychiatric mental health nurse<br \/>\npractitioner, you have the opportunity to help clients address<br \/>\nunderlying causes of the disorders and overcome these behaviors.
