To do this, you should review the description of the ancient epic from the introduction of Epic of Gilgamesh located on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/homeworkhandlers.com\/pages\/\">pages<\/a>\u00a020-22, the historical contexts for Homer located on pages 122-123. These provide background information about the epic genre and the form of the Homeric epics, which Virgil liberally borrows from. Consider the following question: What general features define the ancient epic and what similarities does The Aeneid share with Epic of Gilgamesh and\/or The Odyssey.<\/p>\n<p>REQUIREMENTS:<br \/>\n*** \u2013 Star means Please note, important.<\/p>\n<p>Your composition should be two paragraphs (roughly 300-500 words in length).<br \/>\nBe sure to use specific evidence from the text \u2013<\/p>\n<p>***and from the introductory material describing the ancient Epic in particular. This will be helpful for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/homeworkhandlers.com\/paper\/\">Paper<\/a>\u00a01 because you will be required to talk about the Epic genre in that paper assignment!***<\/p>\n<p>Quote if possible. (Note that the more specific you are, the more useful this journal will be in future assignments like Paper 1 or one of our exams.)<br \/>\nBe sure to proofread.<br \/>\nFeel free to use the first person (I) in your responses and to speculate \u2013 this is a reading journal . You are not expected to have \u201cperfect\u201d answers at this point. Instead, consider this journal an exploration of an issue.
