In your response, make reference to the concept of change<br \/>\nand Indigenous community development in Australia and two international<br \/>\nlocations.<br \/>\nYour essay must<br \/>\ncontain an introduction, main body, a conclusion, a Reference<br \/>\nList (not a Bibliography) and in-text acknowledgements of your references.<br \/>\nThe essay divisions (introduction, body and conclusion) are not to be<br \/>\nsign-posted by way of sub-headings throughout your argument. It<br \/>\nshould be evident to your reader where the introduction, body and conclusion start<br \/>\nand finish.<br \/>\nYou MUST use the AGPS Reference Style. Style sheet uploaded.<br \/>\nAll references are to be no older than 10 years. Most important of all, is the quality and use of<br \/>\nsources in your argument. Select them wisely!<br \/>\nAvoid over-generalisations about Indigenous Australians that often have<br \/>\ndehumanising effects. Aboriginalism refers to the practice of stereotyping, making<br \/>\nstatements about Indigenous Australians and of speaking on their behalf.<br \/>\nStatements such as \u201cThe Indigenous people think . . . \u201c, or \u201cThe Aboriginal people<br \/>\nand their culture was eliminated by colonialism\u201d, are to be avoided.<br \/>\nPlease also take care with terminology. In sum do not use such terms as \u201cthe<br \/>\nAboriginals\u201d, \u201caborigines\u201d, and \u201cATSI\u201d which may cause offence. Use the terms by<br \/>\nwhich Indigenous people self-identify. Also remember to apply proper noun use<br \/>\nwhen referring to Australia\u2019s First Peoples for instance Indigenous Australians, Torres<br \/>\nStrait Islanders, Koori\u2019s and Anaiwan. In regard to non-Indigenous Australians this<br \/>\nlabel is to be applied to those people who are not Australia\u2019s First People. At the<br \/>\ntime of colonisation, the European settlers represented this group.<br \/>\nIn general, do not write from a personal point of view. Detach yourself from the<br \/>\ntopic and try to write objectively. However, if personal experience is pertinent and a<br \/>\ngood exemplar of the point that you are trying to make, it can be included, as long as<br \/>\nyou back up your arguments with academic citations.<br \/>\n8. Your argument needs to be logical and clearly written. It is very important to edit<br \/>\nand proof read your assignment before submitting it.<br \/>\n\u2013 Non-English words should be italicized;<br \/>\n\u2013 Quotations should be in double quotation marks;<br \/>\n\u2013 Numbers greater than 10 should be in figures for example<br \/>\nnine and 31;<br \/>\n\u2013 Dates should be in the form of 8 January 1952;<br \/>\n\u2013 An abstract and Table of Contents is not to be included:<br \/>\n\u2013 An opening quote before the introduction is not required.<br \/>\nCommunity development in all instances is there to serve the needs of the community and has grass root support. I have uploaded a document on definitions it\u2019s a little old but it does explore the concepts quite well.
