This paper is to be in the form of an argument. You will select a topic, choose an issue related to that topic, thoroughly research both sides of the issue, and then write a paper that supports one side or the other of the issue. Your paper must define the issue, present evidence on both sides of the issue, and then argue that one side is stronger and more persuasive than the other. Your paper must address at least three relevant aspects of the issue. More specific directions for each part of the paper will be found within the specific assignment in the weekly modules.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a brief breakdown of the project so that you can plan your time in the course:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Task<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Topic Selection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Week 3<\/p>\n<p>Issue Review (both sides)<\/p>\n<p>Week 5<\/p>\n<p>Thesis &amp; Annotated Bibliography (both sides)<\/p>\n<p>Week 7<\/p>\n<p>Argumentative Paper<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong><br \/>\nThis week, you will choose one of the following topics for your project:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Immigration<\/li>\n<li>Gene therapy<\/li>\n<li>Single-payer health care<\/li>\n<li>Free college for everyone<\/li>\n<li>Cancel student-loan indebtedness<\/li>\n<li>Capital punishment<\/li>\n<li>Universal basic income<\/li>\n<li>Artificial intelligence<\/li>\n<li>Care of the aging<\/li>\n<li>Legalization of prostitution<\/li>\n<li>Euthanasia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you want to propose a different topic, you\u00a0<strong>must have the consent of your instructor<\/strong>. When you choose a topic, think of specific issues under that topic that you will explore. Click on the following link for an example:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Click to expand\" href=\"https:\/\/chamberlain.instructure.com\/courses\/59352\/assignments\/1860385?module_item_id=7684664#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><u>Link: Immigration Topic Example<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For the assignment this week, address the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>State the topic chosen from the list or topic approved by instructor.<\/li>\n<li>State the specific issue you will explore.\n<ul>\n<li>This must be stated either as a question (\u201cShould prostitution be legalized?\u201d) or a whether-or-not statement (\u201cWhether prostitution should be legalized\u201d).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>For the stated issue, state three (3) aspects of the issue that you think you will likely develop in your paper. Briefly state why you have chosen each aspect.\n<ul>\n<li>You are not confined to three aspects only, but you must develop\u00a0<strong>at least<\/strong>\u00a0three.
