For example, you need to keep in mind the various types of \u00a0risk (such as patient safety, physical plant, financial, or reputation), \u00a0as well as the present and future value of the service line or economic \u00a0opportunity into which you are investing resources. You also must \u00a0balance the competing considerations of your ethical and moral \u00a0responsibility to provide quality care to patients and populations, \u00a0while also protecting your care setting\u2019s assets and economic viability \u00a0in the near and long terms.<\/p>\n<h4>Scenario<\/h4>\n<p>The administrative leadership of your care setting has reviewed \u00a0your Executive Brief: Proposal of a New Economic Opportunity and has \u00a0decided that it has merit. As a result, you have been asked to take a \u00a0more detailed look at the feasibility and cost-benefit considerations of \u00a0implementing your proposed economic initiative over the next five \u00a0years. The administrative leaders are looking for a 3\u20135 page report that \u00a0builds a business case for your economic initiative by analyzing ways \u00a0to mitigate the risks associated with your original proposal and a \u00a0completed cost-benefit analysis using the included Cost-Benefit Analysis \u00a0Template, linked in the Resources.<\/p>\n<h4>Instructions<\/h4>\n<p>You have been asked to ensure that your report addresses the following.\u00a0<strong>Note<\/strong>: \u00a0The bullet points below correspond to grading criteria in the scoring \u00a0guide. Be sure your work is, at minimum, addressing each of the bullets \u00a0below. You may also want to read the scoring guide and the Guiding \u00a0Questions: Business Case for a New Economic Opportunity document to \u00a0better understand the performance levels that relate to each grading \u00a0criterion:<\/p>\n<h5>Part 1: Risk and Mitigation Analysis<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Analyze the opportunities and risks relevant to your proposed economic initiative.<\/li>\n<li>Propose ethical and culturally sensitive solutions to address the \u00a0risks associated with your economic initiative to ensure the future \u00a0security of your care setting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Part 2: Cost-Benefit Analysis<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Analyze the costs and benefits of your proposed economic initiative over a five-year strategic outlook.<\/li>\n<li>Propose potential ways to keep costs under control while \u00a0maximizing the benefits of your economic initiative and ensuring that it \u00a0remains ethical and culturally equitable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Address Generally Throughout Business Case<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Justify the relevance and value of the quantitative and \u00a0qualitative economic, financial, and scholarly evidence you used to \u00a0support your recommendations throughout your report.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate your business case in a logically structured and \u00a0concise manner, writing content clearly with correct use of grammar, \u00a0punctuation, and spelling.<\/li>\n<li>Effectively support your report with relevant economic data and \u00a0scholarly sources, correctly formatting citations and references using \u00a0current APA style.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Example assignment:<\/strong>\u00a0You may use the assignment example, \u00a0linked in the Resources, to give you an idea of what a Proficient or \u00a0higher rating on the scoring guide would look like.<\/p>\n<h4>Submission Requirements<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Length of paper<\/strong>: 3\u20135 double-spaced, typed pages (not including title page and reference list). Your paper should be succinct yet substantive.\n<ul>\n<li>Be sure to include a separate title page and reference list.<\/li>\n<li>Your completed Cost-Benefit Analysis Template should be included as an appendix within your final business case submission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>APA formatting<\/strong>: Resources and citations are formatted according to current APA style.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Resources<\/strong>: Cite a minimum of 4\u20135 authoritative \u00a0and scholarly resources.
