All \u00a0assignments MUST be typed, double-spaced, in APA style, and written at \u00a0graduate level English. Be sure to cite your work according to APA \u00a0format.\u00a0Please keep your responses focused on what is presented in the \u00a0vignette. Do not add information but use your creativity to support what \u00a0you see in the vignette as written.\u00a0Avoid elaboration and assumptions.<\/p>\n<p><em>The \u00a0course text is the primary resource for this assignment. You should be \u00a0citing the text often to support your discussion (along with the DSM-5). \u00a0Outside references should be minimal, except for culture.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:\u00a0\u00a0Cultural \u00a0information can be found in\u00a0the DSM-5. You are also encouraged to use \u00a0outside Cross Cultural sources as needed, but please reference if doing \u00a0so.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Discussion must be 6-7 pages\u00a0<\/strong><u><em><strong>plus<\/strong><\/em><\/u><strong>\u00a0a title and reference page.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Vignette Analysis I<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Vignette Analysis I will be covering\u00a0<u><em>Chapters 1 through 3<\/em><\/u>\u00a0in the course text and the relevant DSM-5 disorders.<\/p>\n<p>Your discussion must include at least\u00a0<u>five (5)<\/u>\u00a0\u00a0of the following areas covered in the text that you see relevant, \u00a0directly and specifically to the persons and situations presented in the \u00a0vignette:<\/p>\n<p>(Please identify which areas you are choosing)<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Type I, II, III Trauma<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Developmental and lifespan trauma<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Anxiety, depression and anger Reactions<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Physical and somatic problems<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Emotional dysregulation<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Loss of self-integrity<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Compromised relationships with others<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Safety and the therapeutic relationship<br \/>\n<u><strong>Vignette One<\/strong><\/u><br \/>\n<em>Roni is a 25-year-old female of Asian descent who has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).<\/em>\u00a0<em>Roni \u00a0and her family came to the United States when she was 17 years old \u00a0after her paternal uncle was killed.\u00a0\u00a0She does not remember the details, \u00a0but she has fleeting memories of \u201cgunshots, people screaming and all \u00a0the children being pushed into a car and taken to some strange \u00a0place\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0No one in the family was allowed to mention her uncle\u2019s death \u00a0once they arrived in the U.S.\u00a0\u00a0Roni also tells you, \u201cI hate July 4th in this country. The only way I can cope with that horrific noise, is by taking medicine my doctor gives me\u201d.<\/em>\u00a0<em>Roni \u00a0also reports that she has overwhelming fears of abandonment and is \u00a0terrified of being alone. During the history taking, Roni tells you that \u00a0when she thinks of her uncle\u2019s death, she has great relief and, \u00a0\u201csometimes I am glad he is dead. I feel so guilty for admitting that, \u00a0but he was creepy and I hated being alone with him.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Roni \u00a0is now married for 4 years to a wonderful man she met in junior \u00a0college. The couple has a 2 year old daughter whom she loves dearly.\u00a0At \u00a0times when Roni and her daughter are in the neighborhood playground, \u00a0Roni has the sensation that she is being stalked and fears that someone \u00a0is going to hurt her daughter.
