When<\/p>\n<p>teenagers have low self-esteem, they often perceive themselves to be unable to<\/p>\n<p>mingle and be approached for who they are, and this affects their body image and<\/p>\n<p>self-perception (Wilcox, 2016). The process of addressing self-esteem and body<\/p>\n<p>image-related concerns requires the development of measures targeting teenagers<\/p>\n<p>and society in such a way that both part ies can embrace and appreciate their inherent<\/p>\n<p>diversity.<\/p>\n<p>Negative body image and low self-esteem are enhanced by a plethora of external<\/p>\n<p>stressors such as body weight, physical appearance, color and type of hair, and<\/p>\n<p>intelligence level. This process will help<\/p>\n<p>in identifying the way they understand themselves in terms of self-perception and<\/p>\n<p>the basis of the desire to compare themselves with others. It will also be an<\/p>\n<p>opportunity for identifying the trigger factors (Wilcox, 2016). These are because the latter with be<\/p>\n<p>providing a professional and experienced approach that will be based on developing<\/p>\n<p>unique, posit ive, and constructive solut ions to the teenagers. Exposing the teenagers<\/p>\n<p>to group forums will also be a way of ensuring that they share their challenges with<\/p>\n<p>their peers. Through this approach, it will be possible to minimize the possibility of<\/p>\n<p>feeling rejected because of the social support received from peers (Taylor &amp; Wardy,<\/p>\n<p>2014).
