I choose this topic because it provides key insights into how different economic approaches can affect the wellbeing of a person and that of the state. There is no doubt that some countries around the globe continue to do well economically while other languish in extreme poverty to such an extent that local citizens cannot afford basic needs. Take for instance a case highlighted by the author whereby he highlights the fact\u00a0 North Korea continues to struggle with its economic development while its neighbor south Korea is doing quite well (28). Also, the subject of the increasing gap between the poor and the rich continues to increase hence underlining the importance of coming up with economic conditions that create room for favorable business environments that encourage individuals to develop themselves. As noted on page 30, teaching a man how to fish goes a long way in making such a person self-reliant in addition to improving the overall economy.<\/p>\n<p>As a student, the chapter has also opened my eyes to the impact of global economics and global politics on business in the United States. Thus as populations continue to increase and decrease in other countries, it is clear that this will create new opportunities while at the same time posing serious challenges on the global economy. Hence I need to prepare myself well so that I can be able to compete in the global job market as well as coming with new ideas on how to create wealth. One key thing I did learn from the chapter is the need to pursue self-interests in terms of generating income with aggressiveness.
