Identification of Alteration in Health<\/p>\n<p>A. Definition of disease Congestive Heart Disease (CHD)<\/p>\n<p>II. Role nutrition plays in the prevention of Congestive Heart Disease<\/p>\n<p>1. The impact of diet on disease prevention<\/p>\n<p>1. Types of foods that prevent CHD<\/p>\n<p>III. Etiology\/Progression<\/p>\n<p>1. It is caused by the heart\u0092s inability to pump blood as it should.<\/p>\n<p>1. The heart fails to pump and fill blood effectively<\/p>\n<p>1. Caused by other conditions that weaken the hear such as;<\/p>\n<p>2. Hypertension<\/p>\n<p>2. Coronary artery disease<\/p>\n<p>2. Myocarditis<\/p>\n<p>2. Cardiomyopathy<\/p>\n<p>2. Faulty heart valves<\/p>\n<p>2. Heart arrhythmias<\/p>\n<p>Progression<\/p>\n<p>1. Symptoms<\/p>\n<p>1. Dyspnea (shortness of breath)<\/p>\n<p>1. Weakness and fatigue<\/p>\n<p>1. Nausea and lack of appetite<\/p>\n<p>1. Increased urination at night<\/p>\n<p>1. Chest pains \u0096when caused by heart attack<\/p>\n<p>1. Persistent coughing and wheezing with pink blood phlegm<\/p>\n<p>1. Ascites (swelling of the abdomen)<\/p>\n<p>1. Complications<\/p>\n<p>1. Can cause kidney damage<\/p>\n<p>1. Liver damage<\/p>\n<p>1. Heart valve problems<\/p>\n<p>1. Increased heart arrhythmias<\/p>\n<p>IV. Treatment<\/p>\n<p>A. Medications<\/p>\n<p>1. Aldosterone antagonists<\/p>\n<p>1. To decrease sodium reabsorption, thus, increasing water excretion by the kidneys.<\/p>\n<p>1. Angiotensin II receptor blockers<\/p>\n<p>1. To increase blood vessel dilation for increased blood flow<\/p>\n<p>1. Beta Blockers<\/p>\n<p>1. They are used to reduce blood pressure.<\/p>\n<p>1. Diuretics<\/p>\n<p>1. Target the kidneys to increase production of urine.Your final course project is now due.
