In today\u0092s day in age college students deal with difficult situations in their everyday lives, more often times than people realize. The rates of anxiety and depression are a growing concern in this population. All the while, many college students suffer from some form of mental illness, only a small percentage of college students actually go to seek out help. To help researchers better understand why that is, this study was designed to find out how important it is to a college students to seek out help when dealing with anxiety and depression.<\/p>\n<p>Background:<\/p>\n<p>Mental Health for centuries has been a topic that has been swept under the rug and never discussed. According to the \u0093Medical News Today,\u0094 article, \u0093mental illness can affect a person\u0092s daily life, relationships and even physical health.\u0094 The main two mental disorders that are most common in college students are anxiety and depression. Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest (Mayo Clinic). According to \u0093The Top Mental Health Challenges,\u0094 article depression is one of the main reasons students dropout of college (The Top Mental Health Challenges Facing Students). Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness or unease. Anxiety does not always come from a condition it sometimes can be caused by stress that can result from school work, home responsibilities or work (Mayo Clinic).<\/p>\n<p>Problem Statement:<\/p>\n<p>The problem in this case is college students are not using their resources available to them on their college campus, due to stigmas surrounding their condition. According to the<\/p>\n<p>article \u0093Top Mental Health Challenges Facing Students,\u0094 approximately 80% of college students are overwhelmed by their responsibilities, and 50% are too anxious to concentrate in school.\u0094<\/p>\n<p>Purpose:<\/p>\n<p>The goal for this study is to find out how many college students are willing to seek out help if they are dealing with a mental illness. Having a better understanding on why there is a constant increase in mental illness among this population. With the results from this study, researchers will have a better understanding on what to do to help students feel comfortable reaching out for help.<\/p>\n<p>Goal and Objective:<\/p>\n<p>The goal for this study is to increase the awareness of how important mental health is, and how seeking help can be beneficial. This study is aimed to discuss how important it is for college students to seek out help.<\/p>\n<p>Theoretical Framework:<\/p>\n<p>A qualitative framework was used for this study. Using articles, (e.g. Eisenburg, Hunt, Speer, &amp; Zivin, 2011; Zivin et al., 2009), this study plays a prominent role in mental health research. Many college students don\u0092t seek help due to the stigma surrounding their condition (Eeisenberg, Daniel, 2019). In today\u0092s college life, according to \u0093Journal of College health\u0094 some college students do not know about their resources on campus to help deal with how they are feeling (Yorgason,Jeremy B. 2010). In one journal the researcher describes the factors of depression and anxiety having an effect on stress amongst college students. The author explains perfectly each principle so that the reader can understand them even if they do not have a mental health background. This journal is distinctive in describing easily an introduction to why academic stress, depression, and anxiety can all correlate. Throughout the text Bhujade, provides explicit information that allows us to get more insight on depression and anxiety among college students. The researcher is able to provide cross sectional epidemiological studies that provides many variables and experiences of a college student. The research supports the claims of our research question by providing emotional and psychological problems that are encountered by college students. (Bhujade, V. M. 2017). In this psychological journal, the author describes the relationship between environmental stressors and illness, and how it affects college students. It navigates through the different relationships that anxiety and depression. It is a unique source that helps the reader understand the possible ties between social support, and gender roles and coping. The authors provided a ton of studies that supported the hypothesis and give an abundant supply of information and studies.I want someone to finish up the last tow parts of my research \u201ctime
