STEP 1: FUNDRAISING AND SPONSORSHIP The importance of fund/sponsorship in producing a successful events and providing revenue for events cannot be ignored. Your job is to DEVELOP a sponsorship proposal and/or fundraising plan for your event (see attached sponsorship proposal template; please see chapter 5). STEP 2: DEVELOP EVENT MARKETING PLAN Marketing an event involves knowing the customer well and communicating how an event meets needs. But, it’s much more than that. To attract your customers, you must do the following: • Develop a brand/image that will stick in the mind of the consumer. • Create awareness about the event and/or services offered. • Generate a perception in the mind of the consumer that leads to brand equity and loyalty. • Differentiate the organization and product/services from the competitor (e.g., special promotion, prize) Your job is to DEVELOP the Marketing Strategy and Plan for your event. You will need to bring up your knowledge from your previous marketing, sponsorship & retention, communication, management classes as well as reference our text. The report must include all necessary marketing components not limited to mission and vision statements, SWOT, STP, and your unique marketing approach. The marketing plan must be very detailed and specific. This would be a critical part of your grade.
