- Explain in words how you plot the point (4, −2) in a rectangular coordinate system.
- How do you determine if an ordered pair is a solution to a given equation?
- Is the point (0, 8) on the x-axis or y-axis? How do you know?
- What is the difference between the equations of a vertical and a horizontal line?
- Ozzie filled up the gas tank of his truck and headed out on a road trip. The x- axis on the graph below shows the number of miles Ozzie drove since filling up. The y- axis represents the number of gallons of gas in the truck’s gas tank.
- Find the x- and y- intercepts
- Explain what the x- and y- intercepts mean for Ozzie.
- What does the sign of the slope tell you about a line?
